Lynn Arrand wishes to inform the BCOC members and fellow Basenji owners/breeders that Dr. Johnson has requested a temporary suspension of the Fanconi linkage test so that he and his staff can concentrate on the development of the direct Fanconi test. His laboratory will process submitted linkage tests for samples submitted on or before December 20. Requests for previously submitted samples will also be accepted until that date. After December 20th, Dr. Johnson and his staff will concentrate their efforts on the development of the direct Fanconi test. Blood samples received after December 20th will be processed and the DNA samples stored for later testing. The Fanconi test form on the Canine Phenome Project site will be removed on December 19, 2007. Unless the direct test is found earlier, the Fanconi linkage test will become available again in late February, 2008.
