Treats in socks are used to “fish” the Basenji’s back to the owners. Chuckwagon Races ... Owners/handlers (horses) have to race a course holding carts and Basenji’s. Costume Party Hoe Down ... The best costume girl and boy. Barrel Racing ... Owner/handler and Basenji race through a barrel racing course. Bronco Busting for Basenjis ... A short exercise for Basenji’s and Owners in Bronc Busting. All races/events are for fun - although there are prizes, the prizes are for those who are having the most fun. Everyone will leave the fun night with something. There will also be ‘Hobo Sticks’ for everyone who attends fun night that are filled with goodies. Long lines and ropes will be used for all events to ensure there are no ‘losses’. ![]() There will also be a bidding event on a basket stuffed with goodies. Pictures will be posted of all of the items in the basket. Included are a set of clippers, some toys, shampoo/conditioner, a furminator, etc. There will be a reserve on it as well. Proceeds from the basket will go to the BCOC Rescue Fund. The choices which get the most votes will become the names of the dogs. The winner will receive 50% of the entries. Funds raised will go toward general funds for the Specialty. Entries will be taken via Email up to the 30th of June, as well as on site up to the 10th of July. Votes will also be taken on site. Members will be kept informed as to the suggestions made via e-mail.
